455 g (1 lb) fresh strawberries, halved or quartered
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/8 cup dark, unrefined sugar
mint leaves (optional)
2 tsp coarsley ground black pepper
Wash, drain and dry berries– slice.
Toss with balsamic vinegar.
Top with sugar and pepper, toss again.
Serve within 1/2 hour of preparation in a martini glass or over vanilla soy dream or ice cream.
Garnish with finely chopped mint leaves (optional).
