"How will I Benefit From Being An Active Co-op Member?"

An important commitment that the Kootenay Co-op makes in its mission statement is:
“Serving members effectively”. To this end, the Co-op strives to provide its membership with a comprehensive benefits package which is outlined below:

Everyday Discounts. Products in the Personal Care Department which are clearly identified with yellow price tags receive 15% off. This presently includes the full line of Nulife, Sisu, Natural Factors, Vogel, Biostrath, Aromaforce, Herbatint & Udo’s Choice products. Other items are being added as they become available. This discount increases to 25% on Member Appreciation Days (see point 2 below).

Member Appreciation Day Discounts. Choose a day each month to receive a 10% discount off all purchases with the following exceptions: dairy products, store specials and other select products, share purchases and special events. If you are planning to use your Member Appreciation Day discount, please inform your cashier before your transaction begins.

Purchases over $300. Receive 15% off your grocery order when your purchase exceeds $300 with the exceptions listed in point 2. (Note that the everyday discount remains at 15%). If you are planning a $300 order, please inform your cashier before your transaction begins.

Case Orders. Active members can special order by the case anytime and receive 10% off the order.

Case Lot Sales. Each Spring and Fall we offer a Case Lot Sale of items available at incredibly low prices. Even if you’re a member of a buying club, you will find these savings too good to pass up.

Book Orders. Special order books available from our suppliers at 15% off.

Events. Receive discounts on Cooking Classes and other educational and outreach events. Relevant book titles from the book department are also discounted at the time of those events for participants who are active members.

Have a voice & a vote. Enjoy the opportunity to take part in the on-going democratic process at the Co-op. Standing for election to the Board of Directors at the AGM in September or sitting on a Board committee are ideal opportunities to get involved!
