Pure Water For the World (PWW) started their Haiti project in 2008. They work in partnership with local organizations to bring hygiene education and clean water to schools, clinics and orphanages, particularly in areas with little infrastructure or access to safe water.

In the last 22 months they have trained 1,640 teachers and installed 4000 ceramic and biosand filters.

Since the earthquake, PWW staff swung into emergency mode doing triage in the streets and at a nearby clinic. They have also been setting up emergency water distribution hubs with banks of filters at makeshift camps and clinics. They have been working non-stop to help deliver water to key areas.
